VerifiedPros FAQ
Common questions about claiming listings, license refresh, reviews, and cancellation.
Yes. We don’t charge consumers, sell your contact information, or run lead-buying auctions.
Search for your business, open the listing, and click “Claim This Business”. You’ll be prompted to verify ownership via business-domain email or postal mail.
When you claim a listing, we send a verification code to the phone number your state’s licensing body has on file for your business — not a number a stranger types in. We also confirm your UBI against the public state record. If anything looks off — wrong code, mismatched UBI, suspicious patterns — your claim goes to a trained reviewer on our team, with a 48-hour service-level commitment for a decision. A bad actor would need access to your registered phone AND knowledge of your UBI, and would still face a human review for any unusual signals.
We refresh license data from public registries on a monthly cadence (typically the 15th of each month). If your status changed after the most recent import, the directory will catch up at the next refresh — but you can always link to the official L&I or NPI lookup for live status.
Not unless it violates our screening rules (e.g., profanity, off-topic, sock-puppeting). We believe consumers deserve to see honest reviews. As a claimed business you can post a public response to any review.
From your business portal: Settings → Subscription → Cancel. Your listing stays at the paid tier until the end of the current billing period, then reverts to Basic. You keep your reviews and verification badges.
